Not sure exactly where to begin but maybe somewhere in the middle is a great place to start.
Amanda Eliasch ,fashion editor, writer, producer, philanthropist, all fine titles. Actor, director, not too sure.
Airbrushed make up and way too teased hair was the opening of this film "The Gun, The Cake, and The Butterfly". The stories that make her life an interesting tale for a gossip column but nothing extraordinary and not a worthy film production.
There are three actors playing her at different stages, young child, teen years, middle aged adult. Thank goodness, she didn't interfere with the young child or the teen, they actually got to act without interruption.
Most scenes involving the portrayal of Amanda as a grown woman where constantly being interrupted by her being in the scene! At times, she and the actor playing her had identical lines, wore similar wardrobe and everything was black ( Amanda's fav color).
Though this became annoying, the cinematography was good ,and editing had great special effects which kept me engaged while watching the film.
Amanda was scene stealing and in my opinion, should have stayed with being the narrator and let the actors do what they do.....ACT.
